The time has come once again to make DJ history in South Africa as the DMC Championships 2010 crowns the best scratch vinyl DJ/turntablist in the country. DJs wishing to take part can fill out an entry form on www.dmcbattle.co.za or email info@dmcdjs.co.za



Cape Town Regional Qualifier

The events will be kicked off in Cape Town on Saturday 28 August 2010 at Fiction Bar in Long Street, DJ Codax is the current Cape Town champion defending his title from 2009 against heavyweight entries like Earl Scratch, On- Q (AKA Optimus Prime) and Juice. Besides the DJ battle other acts on the night include Jam Jar and Sedge Warbler performing live, as well as DJ sets by Nastie.Ed and White Nite (ETC Crew). The evening will be hosted by Bakaman.


Johannesburg Regional Qualifier

The Johannesburg regional qualifying event will take place on Saturday 4 September 2010 at The Woods, 66 Carr Street Newtown. DJ Niffty will defend his current Johannesburg title against DJs such as Calculus and Marv D. The DJ battles will be complemented by performances by Papercutt, Mind Explosion aka Cut Key Low (Knowledge Bass), Articulate Artists, Scissor Hands and DJ KGB. The evening will be hosted by Mr. Meen & DJ Soosh and VJ Chinxxx (Mtkidu).


The South African Final

The South African final on 25 September 2010 at Atmospheer will feature the top 6 DJs in the country (finalists from the heats above). Besides the DJ battle the night will play host to various live acts as well as b-boys such as the Blade Breakers, and graffiti by the likes of Mak1One. The SA final will crown a South African champion who will represent SA in the World DMC finals.


The World DMC Final

The UK final will take place at KOKO in London UK on 17th and 18th October.This ultimate DJ showdown will feature the South African champion as well as DJs from 26 other countries and will crown the most technically skilled and crowd pleasing turntablist/DJ in the world.
