2023 Technics DMC World All Vinyl DJ Championship ONLINE

A purely true school DJ battle experience using all vinyl records.

Tuesday, July 4th - Monday, July 10th: Elimination Round Submissions (2 minutes) 

Monday, July 17th: Finalists announced 

Monday, July 24th: Final Round Submissions due (4 minutes)

• This battle is for solo entry only.

Only analogue equipment is permitted with the turntable as the central instrument. No Digital Vinyl Systems (DVS). No laptops. No vinyl controllers. DJ routines must be composed using vinyl records.

Elimination Round: DJs submit a 2 minute elimination video. Deadline Monday, July 10th before 11:59pm EST.

Judges will decide which 10 DJs advance to the Final round.

Final Round: Each finalist will submit a 4 minute routine. Deadline: Deadline Monday, July 24th before 11:59pm EST. Judges will determine the top winner, second and third placed. At some point in the video, the finalist must show their face.

General rules for all online DMC World DJ Battles

All DMC battles are free to enter.

Open to any DJ, of any age, from around the world.

Judges may include DMC World Champions and DJs with enormous credibility and reputation.

A DJ can only enter once per competition.

Competitors must be bona-fide nationals in their country of entry or be able to prove that they have resided in that country for a minimum of 6 years. (* If you are not a National of the country that you are a resident of, you may enter under your passport country.)

DMC retains rights to change and alter the rules of the contest whereby and when, in their opinion, it is in the interest of the events credibility and competition fairness. The decision of DMC is final.

The champion of the previous year is invited to defend their title.

If you advance to the Finals and are not able to submit your video for any reason, please let us know immediately.

When uploading to youtube, please do not use the “safe for kids” setting.

When registering for a competition, be sure to include at least one social media handle so your fans can find you.

Content:

Video editing is not accepted (DJs cannot edit two or more different performances into one set). DJs must submit a non-stop performance. There are no restrictions on creative film presentation, for example multi camera angles, blue/green screen techniques, video back-drop, providing the recording is non-stop from start to finish.

No graphics or signage can be added to video submissions.

All videos must be uploaded before 11:59pm EST on their due date.

A video cannot be longer than 4 seconds over time limit or it will be automatically rejected.

For reasons of quality, videos must have direct audio (meaning audio must be directly plugged in and recorded from the sound source into your recording device and not recorded through a microphone on a phone or computer).

A video entry can not contain nudity, pornography or sexually explicit visual content. The video will be removed if it contains content of this nature.

DMC reserves the rights to delete any entry deemed to be inappropriate.
