The DMC Battle for World Supremacy is the pinnacle of one-on-one DJ competitions, showcasing the world’s most elite turntablists in a thrilling single-elimination bracket format.

How it Works

National Eliminations
60 second qualifying routine needed
Online Submission
Upload a recorded performance to your branch's website or page on dmcdjchamps.com
Live Performance
Compete at a national event (check with your local DMC branch for details)
Wildcard
Competitors will upload a recorded performance via dmcdjchamps.com/wildcard
A panel of judges will select the top 8 finalists, who will compete in the final round.

Eliminations (if needed)
Each DJ will perform a qualifying 60 second routine
The judges will select the top 8 finalists who will face each other during the final round
Finals
DJs will perform a 2-minute solo showcase
Winner is named DMC Scratch National Champion

Tournament
World Finals Format
Eliminations (if needed)
Necessary if more than 8 finalists are competing
Judges will select the Top 7 DJs to compete vs the defending world champion. If there is no defending champion, 8 DJs will be chosen.
Eliminations Round 1
DJs will scratch 16 bars twice
Beats: (Slow round) 60-70 BPM, minimal and heavily drum-based tracks
Eliminations Round 2
DJs will scratch 16 bars twice
Beat: (Fast round) 100-120 BPM, minimal and heavily drum-based tracks
Judges will select the Top 5 to move on to the final round
Finals
Top 4 + 1 defending DJ compete in a Q&A style format for 4 rounds
Beats will range between 60 and 133 BPM, featuring heavily drum-based tracks
Winner is named DMC Scratch World Champion
DMC Scratch World Finals Rule
National Champions and World Champions can defend their title the following year.
Eliminations
If an even number of DJs qualify, a 90 second routine will determine seeding
DJs must have competed in at least one elimination or final round before the World Finals
Branch Managers cannot compete as finalists
