OFFICIAL RULES
Complete competition guidelines for DMC World DJ Championships 2026
Each DJ may only compete in one territory per category
Multiple category entries are permitted (one declaration per category)
All submissions must be original work performed by the declaring DJ
Submissions must adhere to time limits specified for each category
Use of copyrighted material must follow fair use guidelines
DJs must have competed in at least one elimination or final round before the World Finals.
Age Restrictions
Each DJ may only compete in one territory per category
Multiple category entries are permitted (one declaration per category)
No age restrictions for the DMC Competitions, but venue age limits (18+ or 21+) may apply.
Eligibility
Competitors who either:
• Hold a valid national passport, or
• Can provide verifiable proof of residency in the country for a minimum of six (6) consecutive years will be eligible to enter that country’s local national DMC competitions.
If the competitor advances through the competition, they will officially represent the DMC branch country in which they qualified.
Proof of Residency Requirements
Accepted documentation must demonstrate continuous residency and may include (but is not limited to):
• Long-term visa or residency permit
• Tax records or government-issued identification
• Employment records or contracts
• Utility bills or lease agreements
• Bank statements showing local address
• Educational enrollment records
Final determination of eligibility will be reviewed and approved by the local DMC branch in coordination with DMC Headquarters.
Representation Cap
Each national branch may send a maximum of one (1) Migrant Competitor to the DMC World Finals per competition category, provided they have qualified through official national channels.
Restrictions
Once a Migrant Competitor has represented a country at the DMC World Finals, they may not represent another country in future DMC competitions unless:
• They obtain official citizenship and passport status in the new country, and
• A minimum stand-down period of three (3) competition years has passed since their last representation.
Each DJ may only compete in one territory per category
Branch entries are available when your territory hosts the category
Winners from each branch qualify for Regional Finals
Regional winners advance to World Finals
Branch competitions follow standardized judging criteria
Each branch may have additional local requirements
No registration fees for competing DJs.
Wildcard entries are available when your territory does NOT host a category
Wildcard competitors submit video performances for review
Top wildcard performers from each category qualify for World Finals
Wildcard spots are limited based on category
Video submissions must meet technical specifications
Wildcard deadlines are typically earlier than branch deadlines
Technical skill and execution
Creativity and originality
Musical selection and programming
Stage presence and performance
Judges decisions are final
Scoring is done independently by certified DMC judges
World Finals bring together all qualified competitors
Finals are held annually at a designated championship venue
Travel and accommodation support provided for finalists by local branches
Travel and accommodation support for the Wildcard provided for finalists by DMC HQ
Championship includes sponsor prizes and title recognition
Winners receive the coveted DMC Championship title
All finalists gain access to exclusive DMC network and opportunities

Each competition category has its own specific requirements for eligibility, equipment, and judging criteria.
