HOW IT WORKS
- 01DMC Classic Solo Showcase DJ Competition Established in 1985, the DMC Classic Solo Showcase DJ Competition is our traditional format, inviting DJs to compete for the prestigious title: DMC Classic World Champion. DMC Classic FormatA. How It Works1. National EliminationsDJs must perform a 2-minute qualifying routine and can enter in one of two ways: - Online Submission: Upload a recorded performance to your branch’s website or page on dmcdjchamps.com. 
- Live Performance: Compete at a national event (check with your local DMC branch for details). 
 A panel of judges will select the top 6-10 finalists, who will compete in the final round. 🔹 DJs can also enter through the DMC Wildcard Competition (formerly the DMC Online Championships / Rest of the World), which offers an alternative online qualification path. 2. National Finals- DJs perform a 6-minute solo showcase. 
- The winner is crowned DMC Classic National Champion of their country. 
 3. World Finals- Eliminations / Seeding: DJs perform a 3-minute solo showcase. Judges select the Top 10 to advance. 
- Finals: DJs perform a 6-minute solo showcase. 
- The winner of each DMC Classic National Final and DMC Wildcard competes for the DMC Classic World Champion title. 
 B. General Rules for DMC Classic National Competitions✅ DJs must be nationals/citizens of their country to enter a live national competition. ✅ Non-citizens must compete in their country of origin or via the DMC Wildcard Championships. ✅ DJs in countries with/ without a DMC event can enter the DMC Wildcard Championship. ✅ No age restrictions for the DMC Competitions, but venue age limits (18+ or 21+) may apply. ✅ Underage competitors unable to compete in live nationals may enter the DMC Wildcard, but venue age limits may apply. ✅ No registration fees for competing DJs. ✅ Travel & accommodation for guardians/family of underage DMC National Champions are not covered by DMC. ✅ DMC World reserves the right to modify rules for competition integrity. ✅ DMC Branches cannot modify rules without DMC World approval. C. Online Submission Guidelines❌ Edited videos are prohibited – performances must be non-stop. ❌ No graphics, logos, or signage allowed. ❌ Videos must be submitted by 11:59 PM PST on the due date. ❌ Videos exceeding the time limit by more than 5 seconds will be disqualified. ✅ Video format: 16:9 ratio, Full HD (1920×1080 px), direct audio recommended. ✅ Poor audio quality will impact judging results. ✅ Must comply with YouTube’s regional terms and community guidelines. 🚨 Banned content: Nudity, pornography, or explicit visuals will result in a one-year competition ban. ✅ DMC reserves the right to remove inappropriate entries. General Rules for DMC Classic World Finals🏆 Defending Champions: National Champions can defend their title the following year. 🔹 Eliminations: If more than 10 DJs qualify, a 2-minute routine will determine seeding. 🔹 Finals: The Top 10 finalists perform a 6-minute solo showcase. 🔹 Eligibility: DJs must have competed in at least one elimination or final round before the World Finals. 🚫 Branch Managers cannot compete as finalists. F. Equipment Rules✅ Allowed: - Up to 2 turntables & 1 DJ mixer. 
- Both vinyl & DVS systems. 
- Phase system. 
- Any mixer (DJs are encouraged to bring their own). 
 🚫 Not Allowed: - MIDI controllers, effectors, loopers, or additional peripherals. 
 Technical Difficulties While Performing- DJs can restart from the beginning if equipment failure occurs. 
- If the issue is due to DJ’s faulty setup, they may restart from the breakdown point. 
 Restrictions by Competition TypeWorld Finals: Only Technics turntables provided by DMC can be used. National Events: Check with your branch manager. Online Competitions: No equipment restrictions. 
- 02DMC Open Format The DMC Open is an open-format mixing DJ competition. Can you win the crowd? Is your music library deep enough? The DMC Open World Champion must showcase a solid mixture of genres, eras, and tempos.A. How It Works1. National Eliminations Each DJ must perform a 3-minute qualifying routine and can submit in one of two ways:- Online Submission: Upload a recorded performance to your branch’s website or page on dmcdjchamps.com. 
- Live Performance: Compete at a national event (check with your local DMC branch for details). 
 🏆 A panel of judges will select the Top 4-6 DJs to advance to the final round. 🔹 DJs can also enter through the DMC Wildcard Competition (formerly DMC Online Championships / Rest of the World) as an alternative online qualification path. 2. National Finals- DJs perform a 12-minute solo showcase. 
- The winner is crowned DMC Open National Champion of their country. 
 3. World Finals- Eliminations (needed if there are 10+ DJs) : DJs perform a 5-minute solo showcase, and judges select the Top 4-6 DJs to compete in the final round. 
- Seeding Round: All finalists will be asked to perform or submit online a 5-minute solo routine to determine their placement on the World Finals lineup. 
- Finals: DJs perform a 12-minute solo showcase. 
- The National Champions and Wildcard Winner compete at the DMC Open World Final.

- World Champions cannot defend their title. Once a DJ wins the DMC Open World Championship, they can only return as a judge or showcase performer, ensuring a fresh competition each year. 
 🔹 Eliminations: If more than 6 DJs qualify, a 5-minute routine will determine seeding. 🔹 Finals: The Top 6 DJs perform a 12-minute solo showcase. 🔹 Eligibility: DJs must have competed in at least one elimination or final round before the World Finals. 🚫 Branch Managers cannot compete as finalists. IV. Equipment Rules✅ Allowed: - Any DJ setup (turntables, controllers, mixers, etc.).

- 03The DMC Battle for World Supremacy is the pinnacle of one-on-one DJ competitions, showcasing the world’s most elite turntablists in a thrilling single-elimination bracket format. DMC Supremacy Format A. How it Works National Eliminations - Each DJ must perform a 90-second qualifying routine and can submit it in one of two ways: - *Online Submission: Upload a recorded performance to your branches website or page on dmcdjchamps.com 
- Live Performance: Compete at a national event (check with your local DMC branch for entry details and instructions). 
 
- A panel of judges will select the top 8 finalists, who will then compete against each other in the final rounds. 
- DJs can also enter through the DMC Wildcard Competition fka The DMC Online Championships / Rest of the World, which provides an alternative online path to qualify. 
 National Finals - Seeding - All competitors will be seeded randomly on a bracket - The defending champion will be seeded #1 and will start in the preliminary or semi-final round based on the amount of DJs competing. 
 
- Eliminations (If necessary) - Each DJ will perform 1x 90 second routine 
- Judges will select the top 7 DJs to move onto the quarterfinals rounds and seed them based on ranking 
 
- Quarterfinals - The defending champion will be seeded #1 and will battle against the lowest seed 
- Each DJ will perform 2x 90 second routines 
- Judges will select the top DJs to move onto the semi-final round 
 
- Semi-Finals - Each DJ will perform 2x 90 routines 
- Judges will select the top DJs to move onto the final round 
 
 - Finals - Each DJ will perform 2x 90 second routines 
- The winner of the final round will be named the DMC Supremacy National Champion

- 04The DMC Scratch is the ultimate test of turntablist skills. DJs go head-to-head, round-for-round in a single elimination tournament to determine who will be crowned the champion. I. DMC Scratch Format A. How it Works National Eliminations - Each DJ must perform a 60 second qualifying routine and can submit it in one of two ways: - Online Submission: Upload a recorded performance to your branches website or page on dmcdjchamps.com 
- Live Performance: Compete at a national event (check with your local DMC branch for entry details and instructions). 
 
- A panel of judges will select the top 8 finalists, who will then compete against each other in the final rounds.

- The winner of the final round will be named the DMC Scratch National Champion 
 National Finals (Option 2 - World Finals format) - Eliminations will be necessary if more than 8 finalists are competing at the World Finals - Each DJ will perform a 60-second routine 
- Judges will select the Top 7 DJs to compete in the final round vs the defending world champion. If there is no defending champion, 8 DJs will be chosen. 
 
- Eliminations - Elimination Round 1 - DJs will scratch 16 bars once. 
- Beats:(Slow round) 60-70 BPM, minimal and heavily drum-based tracks 
 
- Elimination Round 2 - DJs will scratch 16 bars once 
- Beat: (Fast round) 100 - 120 bpm, minimal and heavily drum-based tracks 
- Judges will select the Top 5 to move on to the final round 
 
 
- Finals - 5 DJs will compete in a Q&A style format for 4 rounds 
- Beats will range between 60 and 133 BPM, featuring heavily drum-based tracks.

Our Story
Established in 1985, DMC World is the world’s longest-running and most prestigious DJ competition on the planet. Period. Since its launch, the Championships have created such turntable superstars as A-Trak, Cash Money, Craze, DJ Fly, DJ Kentaro, Mix Master Mike, Netik and Roc Raida with entrants arriving from over 75 countries.Winning the DMC World Title is the biggest accolade for any Turntablist, putting on the famous DMC World Champion Jacket is the biggest prize in DJing.
