The Technics DMC World DJ Championship 2025
October 10-12

After the unparalleled success of DMC39 in Paris, the premier DJ organization on the planet continues its breathtaking skyward trajectory with its first ever DMC World Final in Asia – Tokyo prepares for battle!!!

Established in 1985, the DMC World Championships has discovered some incredible purveyors of sound over 5 glorious decades - and sitting proudly amongst these legendary names sit a host of great Champions from Japan - each of them etched in DJ folklore forever. From the astonishing talents of a then 12-year-old DJ Rena to global superstar DJ Kentaro and five-time Team Champions Kireek – the land of the rising sun continues to produce phenomenal talent year after year.

This year’s Championship in Tokyo is more than just a weekend of phenomenal DJ battles, it’s a joining of celebration on a triple front. DMC hits 40 World Finals whilst our lifelong partner Technics celebrates 60 years, a company born from the passion of engineers dedicated to advancing music culture through exceptional technology.

“DMC40 Tokyo is here, and Technics are thrilled to sponsor this milestone event! With DMC’s 40th anniversary and our own 60th, this Tokyo Finals holds special meaning for us. We deeply value our shared journey in shaping DJ culture and are committed to making this the greatest DMC World Finals yet. To DMC and DJs worldwide—our respect, gratitude, and support. Let’s make history on the decks!" says Masai Daisuke, Technics Global.

DMC are proud to announce that for a second successive year, Monkey Shoulder – the world’s first made for mixing blended malt whisky, will be joining forces at the world’s premier DJ event as the brand celebrates their 20th anniversary. “Monkey Shoulder is proud to be working with DMC again in 2025” says Global Brand Ambassador Joe Petch. “Following our fantastic partnership in Paris last year, we look forward continuing with our support of the global DJ community and celebrating the best DJ competition in the world. Monkey Shoulder is all about challenging conventions and has always supported creative, innovative and progressive bartenders and music communities so are delighted we can continue to build on this strong partnership.”

The world of DJing has always been a dynamic and ever-evolving art form, rooted in a culture of innovation and boundless creativity. With the introduction of The Open competition in 2024, DMC took a bold new step into unchartered territory by embracing the open format style that is revolutionize the DJing world. Now heading to Tokyo with the new headline partnership Alpha Theta – a DJ match made in heaven!

“AlphaTheta are proud to be back as a lead partner of DMC for DMC40 in our home of Tokyo” says EMEA Marketing Manager Will Dinsdale. “The Open category offers DJs the opportunity to showcase their performance skills on a wide array of equipment, bringing new energy and opportunity to the art of DJing and live performance, something we care deeply about.”

The 40th edition of the Technics DMC World DJ Championships will go down in history as another groundbreaking milestone for the DJ world. A three-day celebration of live showcases, Hall of Fame awards ceremony and the four greatest DJ battles on the planet – Classic, Scratch, Supremacy & Open.

“There are some life-changing memories in DMC’s history, but last year in Paris with C2C, Berywam, DJ Fly, Bob Sinclar et al. will live long in the memory of those lucky enough to be there” admits DMC’s Dan Prince. “DMC40 in Tokyo however takes our company to new frontiers, a World Final on Asian shores for the first time. And where better to stage it, than a nation steeped in DJ and DMC history. Japan and Tokyo, prepare for battle.”

The burning questions remains though… when the rising sun sets on Tokyo - who will be the DJs claiming the glory, honour and respect this time round…?
